The members of the Edinburgh and Lothians have built many layouts over the last 75 years. Below is a quick look at some of them.
The clubs first '0' gauge layout at the Advocates Close club rooms. Circa 1958-65.

The HO layout at Advocates Close. Originally built as an American layout it later became used as an European Continental layout. Circa 1958-65.
The first 00 layout built in the Restalrig Clubroom. Early 1970s.

Tweedsmuir. This was the club's only foray into EM gauge. Circa 1970.
The club's first 'N' gauge layout. This is one of only two photographs of this layout known. Circa 1978 -85
Laurieston, the 2nd 00 layout built at Restalrig. Seen here on exhibition at the MiniRail Exhibition, Heriots School, Edinburgh. Circa 1977-83.
Lothians Light Railway. The clubs third 009 layout. This layout was eventually dismantled, but this section was not disposed of and was later used as the basis of the station section of Caeredwyn. 1971 - 82.
Corrour. This 00 layout was a model of the station on the West Highland line. The layout was a joint venture between the club and two club members and was sold following the death of one of the partners.
Brucetown. The club's second '0' gauge layout. This layout is now privately owned, having been replaced by Puddlebridge. 1984-2002.
Restalrig East. This 00 layout was destined only to have relatively short life and was dismantled in late 2005 to make room for Newcastleton. Circa 1996-2005.
Enbury. This 'N' Gauge layout was built in 1994 and sold in 2013.
Caeredwyn. This 009 layout was built in 1994 and dismantled in 2015. Caeredwyn Station station boards and track were from the Lothians Light Railway layout.
Caeredwyn. 1994 to 2015. A slate train heads up the spiral.
Boghall Quarry and Mining Co. This 09 layout was built 2007 and dismantled in 2019.
Newcastleton. Completed in 2012 this layout was based on the Waverley Route station in the Scottish borders. When the club moved to Tollcross the layout was too large to assemble in the new clubrooms. Rather than scrap the layout it was presented to Liddesdale Heritage Centre and Museum in Newcastleton.
