Scale: ‘N’ Gauge
Layout Data Sheet
Colburgh is a station on a single-track line which serves as a link for the local community, as well as being a line (through the back-scene) leading to a passenger ferry terminal. There is a rail connection to two industrial buildings. To the viewer’s left, the line leads to a goods yard and loco servicing facilities. The line is basically LMS, but apart from the signals, it could be any of the big four. Goods and passenger trains run via the line from the right to and from the main railway system. Some diesels are beginning to appear among the steam trains.
The signals are not operative, so to create the impression of a “little local difficulty” the signalman is standing at the end of the platform with a flag in his hand.
As far as we know, there is no settlement of this name in the English-speaking world. The Station is Colburgh Town, and the ferry terminal Colburgh Quay. Where the line might come from on the national railway system is a mystery.
Control is conventional DC cab control.
